The leopard is a symbol of Sicily, thanks to a wealthy guy whose coat of arms, an ocelot was mistaken for a leopard a few centuries ago.
I wanted to capture the vibrant rustic colours that depict the island's mixing pot of cultures, blending North African vibes with Sicilian charm, to create a visual fiesta!
This print is part of my Sunshine in Sicily collection aka the visual diary of that rare, peaceful child-free holiday with my other half. With so much free time, I got my art on, watercolours out and illustrated the fun, little moments that made Sicily unforgettable.
